On every April, the Department of Construction Systems holds an Annual Awards/Recognition Banquet at the W.H. Thompson Alumni Center, at UNO North Campus. Over one hundred students, alumni, faculty and industry friends attend the semi-formal event.

This year's theme was The Creation and Strengthening of Relationships between Academia and Industry. For the past years, the event has been held as a way to recognize the students for outstanding achievements, in and out of the classroom. In keeping with the theme this year, Construction Systems also recognized outstanding alumnus, organizations, and friends of the department.

Over twenty students are annually recognized for their scholastic achievements and for their involvement in Sigma Lambda Chi, the AGC Student Chapter, the DBIA Student Chapter and the Region IV ASC/AGC Competition.

All in all, it is an excellent evening. It seems that everyone has a great time, and a good meal each year. Most importantly, though, new relationships are created and old ones are strengthened.
