Professor Tom Sires has been associated with the University of Nebraska since 1963. He has been the director of the Nebraska MESA program since 1987; recently he has been responsible for the College's "Earn and Learn" Program. His awards include the ASEE Centennial Certificate and the Order of the Engineer. He has served as a mentor to both students and junior faculty members.
Professor Sires has baccalaureate degrees in civil engineering and business administration. He has a masters degree in mathematics and physics. He is a Senior Engineering Technologist.
